ZICO Law is proud to announce the launch of Insights Philippines Legal Advisors’ (IPLA) new office in Manila on its first anniversary.  IPLA joined the ZICO Law network on 1 March 2017 which makes ZICO Law the first legal network with a full presence in all 10 ASEAN member countries. Our strategic network throughout the region highlights the network’s commitment to developing local knowledge and expertise as the ‘go-to’ legal firm in ASEAN.

We were honoured to have had the launch of IPLA’s new office officially commemorated on 12 March 2018 at the Malaysia Business Forum in Manila by Dato’ Sri Mustafa Mohamed, Minister of International Trade and Industry Malaysia and Honorary Secretary Ramon Lopez, from the Philippines Department of Trade and Industry.

We also celebrated the new office launch of ZICO Corporate Services Inc, which is ZICO’s corporate services arm in the Philippines. The establishment of ZICO Corporate Services in the Philippines further underlines ZICO’s commitment towards providing a comprehensive suite of multidisciplinary services to enable clients to succeed in ASEAN.

In conjunction with the new office launch, Insights Philippines Legal Advisors also hosted an exclusive celebration on 13 March 2018 with over 100 colleagues, clients and close friends from Manila, ASEAN and beyond. Held at the rooftop of the SEDA Hotel BGC Manila, guests were treated to a delectable spread of food and drinks amidst the picturesque setting of the Manila skyline as we celebrated the twin milestones for Insights Philippines Legal Advisors.

IPLA is led by award-winning lawyer Felix Sy, who brings 20 years of local, regional and international practice experience ranging from banking and finance, insurance as well as major projects, energy/renewables, infrastructure and utilities expertise.  Felix leads IPLA with a team of seven members, supported by a partner and three associates.

ZICO Law was also in Manila for the 28th Inter-Pacific Bar Association Annual Meeting and Conference (IPBA 2018) and hosted two exclusive roundtable discussions in conjunction with the annual conference.  Our roundtable discussions on M&A and Projects & Infrastructure were held simultaneously on 14 March 2018 and were co-hosted by Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and the Asian Development Bank respectively.  The roundtables featured an array of global experts who shared their views on the developments, challenges and future of both M&A and Projects in their respective jurisdiction.

It was certainly a momentous and eventful week for ZICO Law Network in Manila and we look forward to growing and developing further in the Philippines and to take our clients’ businesses to a continuing success in the region.
