ZICO Law Malaysia Executive Chairman Datuk Seri Dr Nik Norzrul Thani spoke at length to StarBiz about the upcoming KL-Singapore high speed rail (HSR) project.

As chairman of the Malaysia Singapore Business Council (MSBC) Datuk Seri Dr Nik noted that the council viewed the upcoming project as potential catalyst for trade relations between the two nations. “The time spent to travel between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore will drop to 90 minutes – this will change how businesses in the region operate and the potential is huge.”

Datuk Seri Dr Nik also added that MSBC was keen to help Malaysian businesses to tap into the various opportunities that the project could provide for. “We will act as the bridge between Malaysian and Singaporean businesses to work with each other and enable them to tap into opportunities in both markets.”

In addition to being the Executive Chairman of ZICO Law Malaysia, Datuk Seri Dr Nik also sits on the board of several government linked companies including Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd, Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd, MSIG Insurance (M) Bhd and Ranhill Holdings Bhd, and is chairman of Al Rajhi Banking, Investment Corp (M) Bhd and Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd.
