2018 Legal Rankings: ZICO Law Recognised for its ASEAN-wide Expertise

Last year we celebrated our 30th anniversary and became the first legal network to be fully present and active in all 10 ASEAN countries. As a result, our ASEAN journey is increasingly recognized among the most preeminent legal directories.

We are therefore pleased to share our network’s overall results from research carried out by Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, IFLR and Asialaw in 2017-2018.

In 2018, our rankings span eight countries across ASEAN: Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Rankings results saw a growing number of lawyers ranked as well as an increase of practice groups listed.

Commenting on ZICO Law’s rankings, clients and directories highlighted a key aspect our our identity– ‘local knowledge, regional expertise’.

Local Knowledge- we are proud to have a full, on-the-ground presence in each ASEAN country. This lets us provide the most suited advice no matter wherever our clients do business. Commenting on our local expertise, clients commented:

“They have very good knowledge of local laws and peculiarities” – Chambers, Cambodia

“They are responsive, have intimate knowledge of the workings of local practice and idiosyncracies and provide value-add advice over and above the standard legal requirements” – AsiaLaw, Malaysia

Regional Expertise- Being the first law firm with a full ASEAN-wide presence, our unique ability to provide regional solutions is something our clients find valuable:

“A reputable practice leveraging its regional network” – Chambers, Laos

“Maintains a solid reputation for M&A and IPO expertise, while it can also leverage its ZICO Law network across South-East Asia to provide cross-border coverage.” – Chambers, Malaysia

We are grateful for the contributions made by our clients who took time out of their day to give feedback and insights into our performance, recognising the quality of our teams and geographic footprint in terms of our local and regional expertise.

We would also like to take the opportunity to thank the researchers from Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, IFLR and Asia Law, all of which are preeminent international legal directories. They annually rank law firms by practice group and practitioners through in-depth research, including interviews with peers and clients in each practice area.
