Announcement | Malaysia | Executive Chairman Honoured for Service to Nation

Our Dr Nik Norzul Thani has been conferred the honour of “Darjah Kebesaran Seri Mahkota Wilayah” which carries the title “Datuk Seri“, in conjunction with the Federal Territory Day celebrations in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Datuk Seri Dr Nik was one of 19 elite individuals to be conferred the “Datuk Seri” title by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong XV, Sultan Muhammad V, in a ceremony held at the Royal Palace on 1 February 2017.

The title “Datuk Seri” which is a Malaysian honorific title similar to that of “Sir”, is conferred by the monarch and head of state of Malaysia to deserving individuals who have contributed greatly to the betterment of the nation or state.

Datuk Seri Dr Nik’s conferment also comes on the heels of his recent appointment as Chairman for the Malaysia Singapore Business Council. He is also Chairman for the Capital Market Compensation Fund Corporation, established under the auspices of the Malaysian Securities Commission, as a mechanism for redress for investors in the capital market, to complement the work of the Securities Industry Dispute Resolution Centre.

Datuk Seri Dr Nik has been the Executive Chairman of Zaid Ibrahim & Co. (a member of ZICO Law) since 2015. Since joining the firm in 1998, Datuk Seri Dr Nik’s passion for developing human capital has spurred the growth of the firm and the ZICO Law network in ASEAN.
