Gilbert Gan as Managing Partner of Zaid Ibrahim & Co.

We are pleased to announce the promotion of Gilbert Gan as Managing Partner of our Malaysian office, Zaid Ibrahim & Co.

Gilbert’s appointment reflects the ZICO Law network’s continuing commitment towards smart leadership and strong succession planning. Apart from managing Zaid Ibrahim & Co., Gilbert heads the firm’s key Corporate Finance and Securities practice, with a strong focus on mergers and acquisitions including public take-overs, capital markets and securities regulation. Gilbert has been consistently acknowledged as leading lawyer by various publications such as the International Financial Law Review, Chambers and Asia Pacific Legal 500.

On 1 December 2022, KPMG and ZICO Law entered into an agreement under which a number of law firms and teams from the ZICO Law network have joined the KPMG network of firms.

The deal will see more than 275 lawyers join over 2,900 legal professionals in the KPMG global organization, creating a significant legal footprint across Asia. It will offer legal services and solutions, a globally connected legal services platform, and specialists who work with leading technology providers to modernize legal functions across organizations.
