Caera is a Partner in the Infrastructure, Energy & Utilities practice group at Zaid Ibrahim & Co. She has close to a decade’s experience in a diverse portfolio of projects across a wide range of sectors, including power and renewable energy, oil and gas, manufacturing and construction and engineering.
Caera specialises in project development in the infrastructure and renewable energy sectors. Her recent experience includes advising investors, project sponsors and financial institutions in the bidding, acquisition, development, financing and re-financing of large-scale solar projects in Malaysia. Her experience advising parties with differing interests across stages of a project lifecycle gives her a broader view and balanced understanding of the expectations of all parties.
She has in-depth knowledge and experience in construction and engineering matters. She regularly advises clients, both the employer-side and contractor-side, in the construction and engineering of large infrastructure and manufacturing facilities. She is often involved in front-end planning, tender exercises, project initiation through design and procurement, and construction administration, where she advises and assists the clients in identifying and managing the broad spectrum of risks present in the project lifecycle.
She also has considerable experience in corporate and commercial matters relating to joint ventures, acquisitions and foreign investment in Malaysia.
Caera commenced her pupillage with Zaid Ibrahim & Co. in late 2012. She began her legal career with the firm as an Associate in the Projects, Infrastructure & Utilities practice in 2013. In 2022, Caera became a Partner of the firm.
