Daniel is an experienced legal advisor acting as local counsel in the developing economies of Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia) since 2007. Over the past decade, he has advised on foreign direct investment and commercial/regulatory law and business practices in these jurisdictions.
Daniel has experience in advising clients regarding company formation and corporate compliance; due diligence of local telecom operators with respect to share/asset acquisitions; assisting clients with land due diligence, land acquisitions, leasing and concession projects; aircraft leasing and airline establishment; taking security over moveable assets including shares and other intangibles; share acquisitions in local banks, telecoms and hotels, etc.; establishment and licensing of tourism projects; personal data privacy regulations; and anti-corruption law/ FCPA compliance; etc.
Prior to joining SokSiphana&associates, Daniel acted as a local counsel to international law firms and foreign investors doing business in Cambodia through an online platform. He joined the firm in 2018.
