Yim Siew is a Partner in the Commercial Business Department of Zaid Ibrahim & Co., Johor Bahru office.
Yim Siew advises on a diverse range of corporate and commercial transactions and advisory work involving local and cross border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructuring, foreign direct investment and regulatory compliance, including personal data protection and anti-bribery and corruption. Her experience includes due diligence exercise, drafting and advising on various corporate and commercial agreements.
In addition, Yim Siew has advised on corporate transactions involving capital markets and securities law. She has experience in corporate exercises involving quotation and listing of securities on Malaysian stock exchange and other stock exchange, initial public offerings, equity capital raising exercises, derivatives, rights issue, exchange-traded funds and other collective investment schemes.
She also has experience in advising on construction related matters, sale and purchase of properties, tenancies, leases, settlement agreements and preparation of wills.
Yim Siew joined Zaid Ibrahim & Co, Kuala Lumpur office as a Trainee Associate in 2010 as part of the firm’s structured Trainee Associate Programme. Upon completion of her pupillage, Yim Siew was retained as an Associate in the Corporate Finance and Securities practice group in 2011. She was promoted to Senior Associate 2 in 2014. Subsequently, in August 2014, she transferred to Zaid Ibrahim & Co., Johor Bahru office and was thereafter, promoted to Senior Associate 1 in 2017. In January 2021, she was promoted to Partner of the firm.
