Company Online Registration

On 7 December 2015, the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce (MoC) launched its Online Business Registration service. The new system is intended to allow companies, partnerships and sole proprietors to apply for business registrations, keep their official information up to date, and complete annual filings. The aim of the system is that these steps can now be performed online without having to physically attend the MoC. The system will also allow users to pay the relevant fees online. The new system ought to be faster, easier and more convenient than current MoC processes.

Importantly all companies, partnerships and sole proprietors registered before 11 January 2016, are required to register via the new online registration system before the deadline of 31 March 2016. Those who fail to register by this deadline will incur penalties. Registration is free of charge and should take only about one hour to complete. Click here to register. For those who do not wish to register by themselves, the MoC is offering assistance at a charge.

The MoC will shortly issue a Prakas to set out key information, such as the exact services offered through the online platform, the penalties for failing to register, and the fees for engaging the MoC’s assistance.

In the meantime, we would be pleased to assist anyone who requires any further information about the matters set out above. Please do not hesitate to contact us: Khieu Mealy, Partner and Lean Phirum, Senior Associate.
