Electronic & Digital Signatures in ASEAN
The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the adoption of digital solutions including the use of electronic signatures. While electronic signatures are broadly accepted in the region, they are
still subject to various practical and regulatory considerations, including:
- Cybersecurity considerations
- Legal and regulatory considerations (the types of documents which can be electronically signed)
- Administrative considerations (whether regulators will accept filings which have been duly
signed electronically)
This publication provides a snapshot of the various aspects that are relevant to the use of electronic signatures across ASEAN.
