Like so many of our clients who embody the Asian success stories occurring across the region, Zaid Ibrahim & Co., the first member of the ZICO Law network, was established in 1987 above a bicycle shop in Kuala Lumpur. From these humble beginnings, the three decades of development and growth has seen ZICO Law grow into a network of independent leading law firms with a full presence in 18 cities across Southeast Asia.
In the 1980’s, Malaysia was one of the first countries in the region to embark on a policy of privatisation, and Zaid Ibrahim & Co. was the first local law firm to work with the Malaysian Government in this area. Our foundations are built on a culture of innovation and determination, which have led us through numerous ground-breaking deals.
Our multi-jurisdictional team of ASEAN insiders bring homegrown knowledge and unparalleled business insights when doing business in ASEAN. We are adept at maintaining a local perspective whilst preserving cultural sensitivities and accordingly, each firm is able to deliver commercial and cost-effective solutions grounded in a combination of domestic and international expertise.
Led by regional managing partner Hanim Hamzah, we have cultivated a culture of close collaboration between our independent law firms with a full presence in all 10 ASEAN member countries. With our reach being our key differentiator, this underlines our long term commitment towards developing in ASEAN.
