Should Bike-Hailing Be Regulated in Malaysia?

Two years on after the introduction of e-hailing legislation for cars, the Malaysian Government is now a facing a similar dilemma in coming up with legislation for bike e-hailing services or “bike-hailing”. In this article, Mohamad Izahar Mohamad Izham of the Corporate & Government Advisory Practice of Zaid Ibrahim & Co. (a member of ZICO Law) shares his insights and provides an overview on the challenges and potential solutions to the issues faced by the bike-hailing industry and the existing legal framework and regulatory trends of bike-hailing in ASEAN.

Announcement

On 1 December 2022, KPMG and ZICO Law entered into an agreement under which a number of law firms and teams from the ZICO Law network have joined the KPMG network of firms.
